Optimist Club License Plate
VIRGINIA OPTIMIST LICENSE PLATE -- In 2002, at the initiative of the Optimist Club of Arlington, the Virginia Legislature approved the issuance of a special "Optimist International" Virginia license plate for residents of Virginia who are members of an Optimist Club. The plate is currently under design and will be issued when 350 prepaid applications have been submitted to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
The Virginia DMV requires that one individual/organization be designated to collect the prepaid applications. DMV and the Capital District Virginia District of Optimist International has designated the Optimist Club of Arlington to coordinate the collecting of the initial 350 prepaid applications.
Below are frequently asked questions about the ordering the "Optimist" license plate and information on how to do so.

The cost for the special "Optimist" license plate, like all special plates in Virginia, costs $10 annually in addition to the registration fee for the vehicle.
What will be the plate numbering?
The numbering system for these special license plates consists of four numeric characters followed by two alpha characters.
Can I personalize my license plate?
