Membership Information
To become a member of the Arlington Optimist Club, you need to express your interest by attending a weekly lunch and completing an application to be submitted to the Optimist Club Board of Directors for review. A one-time application fee of $45.00 is required. There are many types of membership, but the initial membership is called Active Member. Active Members pay quarterly dues of $100.00 which includes six luncheons. If an Active Member attends more than six luncheons in the preceding quarter, the dues are adjusted at $12.50 per lunch in excess of six. Dues to Optimist International are included in the quarterly assessment. The dues also help to fund operating expenses such as the publishing of the bi-weekly bulletin, membership building, the speakers program, publicity, flowers, cards, and other administrative expenses. Income raised from fundraising activities such as Christmas tree sales, golf tournament, and other programs is directly applied to the youth programs.
